By Barbara Ward
Why can’t you see me?
Shall I stand naked before you
Until you notice?
Why can’t you hear me?
Shall I shout out you name
Until you answer me
Why can’t you feel my presence?
Shall I hover over you
Like a bee to a flower
Sipping at your nectar
Shall I walk away?
Out of sight – out of mind
Longing to be missed by you
Would you?
I dare not ask
For surely it would break my heart
To know you simply would not
Just another face in the crowd
That’s invisible
